The countryside is important to all of us, whether we live or work there, or simply spend time enjoying it. Equally important is food and it’s production.
For more than 150 years the Yorkshire Agricultural Society has helped support those living and working in rural areas, assisting progress whilst never losing sight of the value of our heritage.
Recently rural communities have experienced some of the most turbulent times ever and the Society’s support has been very welcome.
These payments have helped with:
- Grants to fund agricultural research
- Sponsorship of farming projects
- Running the Farming Enterprise Awards
- Support for numerous charities and organisations
- Growing Routes programme, offering practical help to new rural businesses
- Organising key conferences, seminars and competitions
- Running an education programme to improve understanding of rural matters
