The Tye Trophy is presented by Mrs Alison Saville, who donated it in memory of the Tye family, founders of Tye Trailers.
Each of five FWAG county groups (North Yorkshire, East Yorkshrie, South and West Yorkshire, Tyne Tees and Northumberland) will nominated three farms annually before the end of March.
Each county group's nominations will be judged by a panel from the neighbouring group in early May and a county winner selected Winners of the county competitions will be judged by a regional judging panel in early June.
Judging is based on how well the farm integrates the business with wildlife conservation and resource protection.
The winners are announced at a ceremony at the Great Yorkshire Show on the Wednesday of the Great Yorkshire Show at 11.00 am when Mrs Alison Saville and FWAG’s Director England, Michael Woodhouse will present the Awards with the press in attendance.
All entrants and judges will be invited to the presentation of the Awards and a reception following the ceremony, with free entry to the Great Yorkshire Show.
The county winners are eligible to enter the national Silver Lapwing Award the following year, (timing does not allow this in the same year as the award).
