Long Service Award
 
 

The Yorkshire Agricultural Society will consider applications for Long Service Awards as follows:

1. To the employees of Members of the Society who have worked for 35 or more years continuously for the same family or on the same farm or estate. 

 Those eligible must be commercial farm or horticultural workers, woodmen, gamekeepers or estate workers, who spend the major part of their time directly employed on the land.

2. To the employees of companies that are Members of the Society and involved in agricultural machinery, seed, grain, fertilisers, etc, or supporting forestry, horticulture and other aspects of agriculture.   

 Those eligible must have worked with the same firm or on the same premises for 35 or more years continuously and their work must also be directly involved with the industry.

Recipients will be awarded a tankard engraved with their name and number of years service, a buttonhole badge entitling them to free admission to the Great Yorkshire Show for life and a certificate inscribed with their name marking the Award.

No fee is chargeable to the employer.

Members wishing to apply for one of these Awards for an employee should complete the Application Form. The completed forms which must be received by 1st April are placed before the Trustee Board for approval.  Arrangements are then made for engraving the tankard and for its presentation at the Great Yorkshire Show.
