This popular event for secondary students is being held for the third time in the Yorkshire Events Centre.
Countryside Careers is an event for secondary students from across Yorkshire and Humber. It is being held on 9 October 2012 at the Yorkshire Event Centre, Great Yorkshire Showground. The event is aimed at students who are at Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 (11 to 18 years). It comprises a wide range of practical and interactive opportunities for students to sample the skills required in a particular career area. The career areas represented are wide ranging from Veterinary Science to Garden Design and cover all aspects of Farming, Horticulture, Construction, Engineering, and Country Crafts. Also attending is a wide range of colleges and companies who offer courses and apprenticeships.
The event comprises a wide range of exhibitors who offer an opportunity to sample the skills required in various career areas. It provides a practical and interactive experience for all secondary students in the following careers:
