Established 15 years ago the Yorkshire Rural Support Network is a partnership of Yorkshire statutory and voluntary agencies that together promote and provide sources of help – whether practical, financial, medical or emotional.

The aim of the Network is to alleviate stress in Yorkshire’s farming community.

The Yorkshire Agricultural Society is an active member of the network along with organisations such as Farm Crisis Network, Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution, Citizens Advice Bureau, ARC-Addington Fund and the Diocese of Ripon and Leeds.

Stress can strike anyone, anytime, don't become a victim.  Click here to download 'Surving Stress' leaflet.

2011 Presentations:

Following our Network Annual Presentation on 27th September 2011, when we welcomed Dr Stuart Burgess CBE of the Commission of Rural Communities, a resume of his words is available for download here.

Sophie Stockdale, Rural Network Manager at Involve Yorkshire & Humber launched ‘The Rural Lifelines’ Report and presented a copy to Dr Stuart Burgess. The Report outlines how the voluntary and community sector reaches out to the most disadvantaged residents in Yorkshire & Humber and contributions of real case studies have been made by several Network members. The Report focuses on real examples of disadvantage and isolation as a result of rurality and the associated difficulties of access to services and transport, social isolation, access to broadband, financial hardship, poor housing and fuel poverty and health and social care provisions.  The Report can be accessed electronically here and for hard copies please contact Sophie Stockdale  - sophie.stockdale@involveyorkshirehumber.org.uk or call 0113 394 216 or at Involve Yorkshire & Humber, Floor 5 Gallery House, 131 The Headrow, Leeds.
